Nowadays the Department of Information Technologies and Cybersecurity is preparing specialists of educational and qualification levels of bachelor and master of specialty 122 - "Computer Science" for educational programs "Computer Science", "Information Control Systems and Technologies", "Information Technologies for Designing" and " IT commerce. "
Organization of the education process
The great part of the teachers’ attention is paid to the qualitative organization of the educational process of the students: the database of educational and methodical materials is constantly being updated, educational and work programs of disciplines are updated. Each semester by the department are published methodological instructions, study guides and textbooks in order to provide students with educational material and improve their perceptions. Here students are provided with not only methodological material on all academic disciplines, but also have an opportunity to prepare for graduation design with the help of methodical instructions developed by the teachers of the department.
Scientific research work
The active participation of lecturers of the department in scientific projects significantly increases not only their professional level, but also provides better training of specialists. Using of scientific advances in the training of specialists is essential for the formation of national personnel capable of developing, implementing and exploiting new knowledge-intensive technologies in the strategically important for the country's technical policy. Teachers of the department are always eager to involve students in participation in all types of scientific activities, the results of which are used in the best diploma papers and scientific publications, and then in dissertation papers.
Each year, our students confirm their high level, and therefore their level of lecturers, receiving honors diplomas. In 2018, there were 10 graduates. This is the pride of the department!
Olympiads and competitions
Too much attention is paid to the Olympiads and contests: over the past 5 years, students of our department repeatedly ranked prize-winning places in various programming and design competitions. Students of the department are regular participants of such international tournaments and olympiads as IT-Planet, Golden byte, the international Olympiad in programming KPI-OPEN, the international student Olympiad in the field o
f information technologies IT-Universe-2017, the international Olympiad on programming for the Vekua Cup. The victory of the team of our C ++ students in14Days in the international humorous programming competition PROGGY-BUGGY CONTEST and the access to the semifinals of the World Team Student Olympiad in programming ACM ICPC (coach, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Ass. Antonova A.R.)
In 2018, Babiychuk Vadim, student of the international student research contest "Black Sea Science-2018", with the theme "Program simulator for demonstration of vulnerabilities of web-applications" took the prize-winning place.
International cooperation 
Much attention is paid to international cooperation, in particular associate professor Antonova A.R not the first year is the initiator of the conclusion of agreements on cooperation with the universities of Poland and conducting foreign internships for students and faculty of the department at the University of Computer Science WSInf in Lodz, Poland. Selivanova A.V signed an agreement on cooperation ONTY with Western Pomeranian Technological University in Szczecin until 2025. Teachers and students of the department regularly undergo international internships in European countries, in particular in Poland, Czech Republic, Germany. In the light of the new requirements for specialists with higher education, passing this type of internship becomes a mandatory requirement for employment in any EU firm and the world.
Certification training
The improvement of the qualification of the teachers of the department is carried out in the following ways:
- training in graduate school, 
defense of dissertations;
- participation in webinars, seminars and conferences;
- writing scientific articles;
- online training;
- Internship in EU countries;
- the high school of pedagogical skill ONTY.
During the whole period of the existence of the department a lot of attention was paid to the training of our own specialists who could qualitatively complete the teaching staff of the department at the expense of graduates of our specialties. Annually the composition of the department is replenished by its own graduates.
Student Life
The Department always acts as the initiator of various activities designed to make students' life more interesting and cognitive: every day the department is held, lectures of leading IT specialists take place during the academic year. Qualified IT-companies share their experience, tell students what to draw attention to, which is now relevant to the IT field, which is very dynamic and requires constant improvement of its knowledge.
In addition to the scientific leadership, the teachers of the Department of Information Technology and Cybersecurity conduct educational work with students, namely, they are divided between curatorial and хз duties.
The curators of the groups are happy to organize trips in theaters and museums, hold thematic seminars and always open for dialogue in the event of questions from the students' side.
Employment
Separately we must say about the employment of graduates of the department. An analysis made over the past 7 years suggests that about 60% of graduates are employed in a specialty and occupy a variety of IT positions: software development, 3D design, IP management, etc. Over the years, the department has trained a lot of highly skilled specialists for IT companies that successfully work in Ukraine and abroad (in Moldova, Belarus, the Russian Federation, Germany, Denmark, Holland, France, Israel, the USA, etc.). Among the companies that employ graduates of the ITCS department, such as Provectus-IT, AB Soft, Product Engine Inc., NXC, Epam Systems, Lohika Systems, Netpeak, Intersog, Luxoft, Yesgroup, Bliss Systems, Kvazar-Micro, Backstage Entertainment Group, Blam! games studio, Odessa Commercial Sea Port, SHAPE, Noosphere Ventures, PSOFT, Arka, Odessa railway, Tenet company, Ukrainian-American trading company Contact, OJSC "OBLENERGO", NETPROFIT Internet agency, Bank Pivdenny, Misto Bank JSC and many others. There are a lot of examples of successful employment of graduates of the department abroad.
The day of the department
